Salmon RescuePosted by Bryan Bloebaum, BlueTree Images (Nashville, United States) on 10 March 2008 in Animal & Insect. This is a shot I took for Oregon Business magazine last July. It was for a feature article called "Water Wars" about water usage in Oregon. It is a fish elevator on the Umatilla River. It is run by biologists from the Umatilla Reservation. Healthy salmon are lifted over a dam and trucked upriver about 11 miles to spawn. This one ran in the magazine but I'll be posting some other photos from this shoot that didn't make it over the next few days.
